The idea is that they give you the money back that they receive from the network provider. Of course, this amount is less than the total cost of the contract, so, to avoid losing money compaines offering free line rental deals add a few things into the conditions of the offer to try and trip you up.

For example, you have to claim money back on given dates… forget to do that and you lose your refund. They also ask for paperwork you may lose, such as vouchers or mobile phone bills. If you fail to provide these documents you will not be paid.

The process is convoluted, these companies are not in buisiness to lose money!
