Cheap headphones

Is it me, or do headphones just not last as long these days? It seems as though the ones I got with my Walkman when I was a teenager lasted longer than the Walkman, but the ones I got with my mp3 player last year have just given out, and I had to buy a new pair yesterday. They look pretty flimsy, too, so maybe I should have just bought two pairs at the same time. Mind you, the prices have gone down a lot, so maybe I should quit complaining. Especially as I ordered mine online from Brookstone, which means they will be here tomorrow and I got a really good price on them, too.
