Nutritional Health Supplements versus Natural Food Supplements

The availability of dietary or nutritional health supplements and their expediency in working in the human system has made people to forget about the true nature and value of natural plants. In most cases, these health supplements are consumed without even verifying or knowing the level of nutrients that is contained in them.

First and foremost, natural foods should be preferred because they contain natural nutrients in the natural proportions. On the other hand, health supplements are synthetic foods which may have only small proportions of these foods. Secondly, taking natural foods allows for a gradual process as nature wants it. The nutrients are absorbed and what is not taken in is either stored up or excreted. But with health supplements, it means there is always a large excess of nutrients over present need. Much is ingested as well as much is excreted. This often leads to lots of waste. However, you must consult you doctor because this may not be the case for every individual.
