My boyfriend’s grandmother passed away recently, and the family held an estate sale. I was browsing at the sale and came upon many things of interest to me. I found several boxes of quilting supplies and quilting magazines. The magazines were in wonderful condition as they had been stored in an airtight trunk for many years. I immediately offered to purchase the whole lot from my boyfriend’s family. They seemed amused that I wanted the quilting supplies and magazines and told me just to take them. I was ecstatic. I took everything home and sat down and began reading about my newfound hobby.

I think dance is one of those things that needs to be learnt properly. So it needs to be done in a proper learning envionment or in the right location.

Some things such as salsa can be learnt in a salsa club with some instructors and you can follow along as it’s mainly footwork. But if you want to learn to dance other styles such as hip hop or jazz then a good equipped dance studio with mirrors is best.

I’ll either go to a club if it’s a social dance to learn or for anything else I will find a class done in a proper studio with mirrors. If you’re paying money it pays to learn properly!

I am not one that likes to get real busy in my designs or my decorating. I really do like items that have very few lines and colors. Occasionally though I do like items that pop and add a certain touch to a room or piece of art, but for the most part I am more of a minimalist. What I like most about the old time pottery is that they did have the minimalist idea too, although theirs was probably out of necessity instead of choice but I cherish the work anyway. Most pieces fit in quite nicely in my understated yet flowing decor.

My friends are all going to the tattoo parlor to get matching angel tattoos, and I am trying to decide whether or not to go with them. I have never thought seriously about getting a tattoo before, and I am not sure whether I want to or not. However, I can always get it somewhere that it can be easily covered up, and if I should change my mind I suppose I could always get it removed. I don’t think an angel tattoo would really be embarrassing either like the name of an ex-boyfriend would be. And it would always remind me of my best friends.

My son recently started playing the drums. I told him that I wanted him to try different kinds of drums, so that the could choose what would be his favorite. While he did not like the fact that I make him do this, he agreed to do it.

Now his favorite drum to play is the bodhran drum. This is a drum that he had not even considered at first. Now he thanks me for making him try out some different instruments. He would have never tried some of them, and he has found that he really enjoyed. Now he is more open to try some new things.
