What If There Were No Data Conversion Software?

In a global scale, almost every business establishment, institution and offices maintain and use their own computer systems. These company computer systems are used to store essential information relating to the company; from employees’ profiles, business statistics, plans and other projects to the complex program applications, it’s all there. So if every year, new computer systems and datum are created and there wouldn’t be any available data conversion software, the computer world will be in a standstill. Once these operating systems and databases gets outdated, industries (most are run by technology) would stop their production, traffic lights (operated via computer) wouldn’t be functioning, department stores could no longer use their barcode-reading machines and the whole population will be in such a mess. With such chaos, the whole human civilization would cease to progress.
