I had always wanted to own my own store but it wasn’t until I worked for someone else for over five years that I finally plucked up the courage to try to do it to myself. I got some money together and took some advice from a retail consultant. There was a lot to learn, and one of the things that he told me was that I really needed to get some software that was designed to do Inventory Control for a Retail Store, because without it I would probably find that I would spend a lot of time worrying about whether or not my stock levels were okay. I took his advice and I can see now why it is so important, because without that software I would spend most of my time doing inventory management instead of doing the more important job of running the business.
