Cleaning Car Upholstery

Most people will have to clean up a spill in their car at some time or another.  Even if you do not have to clean a particular spot, you might want to freshen up the upholstery.  Make sure you use the right cleaner for the job.

Some cleaners are made specifically for leather seats.  If you have cloth seats, use a cleaner designed for cloth seats.  Some cleaners made for cloth seats have dry cleaning fluids in them and will damage leather.  Leather cleaners have more oils than your cloth seats need.

Then, there are spot cleaners and overall cleaners.  If your car’s seats need an overall cleaning, it is often better to take them to a business that provides that service.  You can do spot cleaning yourself in most cases.

Always test the cleaner on an inconspicuous spot of the upholstery.  That could be near the bottom of a seat, to the side.  Test it anywhere that it will not show if the cleaner leaves a spot.  Most of them are sprayed on, wiped with a damp sponge, and left to dry.  Then, you vacuum them out.  Just follow directions and clean the spot.  For more information on car rental in Columbia, SC, visit Triangle Rent A Car today!
